Divorce in Later Life--The Male Experience
We are currently recruiting older adult men to participate in an interview study about divorce in later life. We specifically want to interview men whose divorce was legalized at the age of 55 or older.
What happens during the interview?
Interviews are confidential, and will be conducted via videoconferencing software or phone. We will ask participants to share their experience of divorce, including how the divorce was initiated, how the divorce impacted their relationships, emotional health, daily life, and future plans, and finally, we ask participants to share their post-divorce experiences or intentions related to dating/repartnering.
What are the benefits of participating?
Many people find it helpful to share their stories. You may also benefit simply from knowing you contributed to social science by helping researchers better understand the challenges or advantages related to late life divorce. All participants will be compensated $50.00 for their time.
Is this study approved by an Institutional Review Board?
Yes. This study has been approved by the University of Missouri Institutional Review Board (IRB): Project #2017104; Approval Date: 10/24/2019; Expiration Date: 10/24/2021.
